On my honor.

For its 100th anniversary, the Boy Scouts of America wanted more than a history book. They wanted a keepsake, something a Scout of any generation would open and recognize as their own.

We designed the collector’s book from cover to cover: a linen-textured cover with an embroidered-style 100 patch, a translucent Scout Oath overlay, and page after page of archival photos, Norman Rockwell paintings, gear, badges and Boys’ Life covers, arranged decade by decade.

The cover

Made to be kept

The book opens like a treasured uniform: linen texture, an embossed gold fleur-de-lis and a red 100 patch. Inside, a translucent page carries the Scout Oath, and the story begins with the Legend of the Unknown Scout.

A century of service

One hundred years, one story

The history runs decade by decade, from Liberty Bond drives and Cub Scouts to the Apollo 11 crew and the Scouts who handed out water at Ground Zero. Bold full-page moments break up the archive.

Gear through the years

From campaign hats to GPS

One recurring layout tracks how Scouts dressed and packed in 1910, 1960 and 2010: a Scout in full uniform on the left page, and his gear laid out like a museum display on the right.

Badges & Boys’ Life

Earned, worn and read

Ranks, merit badges, Eagle Scouts and high adventure each get their own spreads, and a century of Boys’ Life covers, comics and ads closes the book.
